to me
The funny: My friend Lauren was asking the whole of her company where he bag was, when it was actually in her hands the whole time - she spent about 5 mins looking for a bag that was in her possession.
The inspirational: The testimony meeting was really moving. Many youth from our ward bore testimonies, aswell as those from our stake and adjacent stakes whom I know. Some people bore testimony who I dont think would have done if it wasn't for EFY/SMYC. Also, we were given the opportunity to spend a whole hour on our own doing personal scripture study. A whole week doing this was really beneficial, as I don't normally read scriptures in the morning (apart from seminary).

Ward Outing

Bournemouth Ward

Saturday 29th June:  Helping Hands Day

Another bright sunny day welcomed the willing hands from Poole, Christchurch and Bournemouth Wards as they met in Boscombe Chine to help tidy it up so that Bournemouth Town Council would once again win the coveted prize, Bournemouth in Bloom.
The helpers had been asked to wash and sand the benches, pick up litter and clean up the children's play area and generally tidy the place up. The play area had a fountain in it and as it was such a hot day there were lots of people looking after it, working very hard by polishing it and sharing the water with friends by splashing it around.
The brass plates on some of the benches were scrubbed and made nice and shiny and posts got the same treatment.
There were about100 people there and by the time they had finished the Chine was ready for inspection.
Becky Fox had been made the official photographer for the day and took plenty of photos of people working hard, or in some cases, not working at all, but smiling happily anyway.
I was informed that there were bat boxes in the trees put there by the council to encourage wildlife, namely bats. We weren't, however, asked to tidy the bat homes which was probably a wise decision.
All in all, it was a good three hours work and we are hoping that the town Council will be suitably impressed!

Present were: Rachel, Jake and Amy Grant: Mike, Kirsty, Ellie, Caitlin and Callum Winkworth: Becky, Stewart and Jensen Fox: Suzanne and Simon Kenchington; Louise Hamilton; Judith and Ella Cooper the Bournemouth Ward missionaries, Elder Chacon and Elder McCook, and Mary Hathaway. This happy band of workers went home to a well-earned rest!

How this is going to work

This blog can serve as the history of the stake for the years to come.  As you can see, I have made up posts here, to show you how this can work.

First, the blog will automatically log when the post was posted and you will have an archive by month and year for each post.  Each post has labels showing what it is (ie birth, marriage, mission) and which ward it belongs to (ie Poole, Bournemouth, etc).  Therefore if you want to know of all the marriages that year, you can click on the label marriages and all marriages will be listed for you.   Or if you want to know everything that happened in Bournemouth, you click on that label and it will be listed for you.  You can have multiple labels on a post so if there is anything else you would like to label it as then you can add it.

Second, you can have multiple authors, so each ward can have a historian and they can add when necessary.

Third, this can be made private if you would like so all historians will have to log in or if you would like to see it then you could log in.
